Wer schon immer mal auf einem Frachter mitfahren wollte, kommt dem Erlebnis mit diesem Timelapse schon etwas näher. Fotograf Toby Smith hat die Fahrt des Containerschiff Gunhilde Maersk von Ho-Chi Minh / Vietnam nach Ningbo / China dokumentiert.

Und jetzt kommen die Fakten. Google Maps gibt für die Strecke über Land eine Distanz von knapp 4000 Kilometern an, während derer Smith über 78.000 Fotos schoss. Das Löschen der Ladung hat etwas entspannendes. Wie anderen bei Tetris zuzusehen.

Voyage was part of the Unknown Fields, A World Adrift, Field Trip in September 2014.

A montage of over 78,000 5D Mk3 RAW files, processed groomed and edited to create a stunning day to night sequence in 4K. The camera was fitted with a 17mm TS Lens and mounted in a custom, solar powered, marine housing.
