Ich hoffe sehr, dass der Film „Cowboys & Aliens“ ebenso irrwitzig wie der Titel wird. Der neue Film von Jon Favreau basiert auf dem gleichnamigen Comic von Scott Mitchell Rosenberg (hier auch als Produzent beteiligt). Die Tatsache, dass Aliens im Arizona des 19 Jh. das Wild West Städtchen Absolution platt und ordentlich Apokalypse machen wollen, während sich die eigentlich zerstrittenen Cowboys zusammenrotten und sich beginnen mit Schießeisen zu wehren, ist eigentlich ein interessantes Konzept, wenn die Rolle der Über-Outlaws jetzt von Extraterrestrischen mit Protonenkanonen übernommen wird.

Das ganze hätte auch extrem klamaukig inszeniert werden können. Der Trailer macht aber den Eindruck, dass dieses Konzept tatsächlich bierernst genommen wird. Olivia Wild („Dr.House“) in der weiblichen Hauptrolle, Daniel Craig als Amnesie-Patient mit Alienarmband, Harrison Ford als Colonel und der super Sam Rockwell als irgendwas. Die Drehbuchautoren von „Star Track“ Alex Kurtzman und Roberto Orci sowie Damon Lindelof von „Lost“ haben das Drehbuch verfasst, Steven Spielberg und Ron Howard haben das Spektakel produziert.
