„Mix Takes“ heisst diese Aufnahme und Will Sessions ist der Name der Band, die bereits zuständig war für die Neu-Interpretation der Instrumentals des ersten Nas Albums „Illmatic“ für das Hommage-Projekt von Slum Villages‘ Elzhi mit dem Titel „Elmatic“, welches wir hier und hier bereits gebührend abgefeiert haben und das bei mir immer noch sehr gern rotiert.

Dies war ein Satz mit ausreichender Länge, jetzt kommt Musik…Sehr gute Musik.

Will Sessions impressed many with the meticulous craftsmanship of their studio re-workings of the classic tracks for „The Elmatic Instrumentals.“ With their new two-part video „Mix Takes,“ the five-piece band is taking a similar approach in recreating some of their favorite songs–only this time it was all recorded and filmed live in real time.
