„Beats, Rhymes and Life“, die Dokumentation über A Tribe Called Quest sollte in Kürze in Deutschland zu sehen sein, wenn ich mich nicht irre. Leider kann ich gerade keinen Termin dazu finden, lasse mir aber gern nachhelfen. Michale Rapaport, den man sonst eher als Schauspieler kennt, hat bei dem Streifen Regie geführt und erzählt in diesem kurzen Interview ein wenig aus dem Nähkästchen des kreativen Entstehungs-Prozesses.

The movie documents the career of seminal hip hop group A Tribe Called Quest as well as the conflicts within the group that eventually led to their breakup. In this piece, Rapaport discusses the highs and lows of the project and his internal struggles with making the film. His love of the group is apparent and talks about the reasons he made the film and some of the controversy that surrounds it. The movie is in theaters now, for a few more weeks.
