Er arbeitete 34 Jahre beim DSNY, der Müllabfuhr New Yorks. 2015 ging Nelson Molina in Rente, er besucht seine alten Kollegen aber noch immer, um seinem Museum neue Stücke hinzuzufügen. Er sammelt Dinge, die die New Yorker wegwerfen. Völlig egal, was es ist. Wenn er etwas darin sieht, nimmt er es mit. Ein Sammelsurium verschiedenster Dinge, die er angehäuft hat. Dank seiner Ordnung wirkt es aber nicht, wie eine Messi-Wohnung, sondern sieht tatsächlich sehr interessant aus.

Sein „Müll-Museum“ Treasure in the Trash ist bisher nicht öffentlich zugänglich, das soll sich aber mithilfe dieses Portraits ändern. Es kann ab sofort für eine Stiftung gespendet werden.

For 34 years, New York Sanitation worker, Nelson Molina collected items in the trash on his route in East Harlem. Over 45,000 items, all catalogued and organized on the second floor of the M11 garage. Nelson retired from the job in 2015, but comes to the garage routinely to check in on his „museum.“
