13 Züge, 18 Fahrspuren, 25 Wolkenkratzer und über 1000 Hotwheels Modellautos. Die riesige kinetische Installation von Chris Burden trägt den Titel Metropolis 2 und ist inspiriert von dem gleichnamigen deutschen Film von 1927. Seit 2011 ist das Kunstwerk Teil der ständigen Ausstellung im Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Und natürlich stehen nicht nur, aber auch sehr viele Kinder drumherum und machen große Augen.

Das BTS weiter unten ist ebenfalls sehr interessant und beleuchtet die Instandhaltung etwas näher.

A short doc about a kinetic sculpture that took four years to build. We had the honor of spending three days in Chris Burden’s studio filming this sculpture before it was moved to the Los Angeles Country Museum of Art (LACMA) where it is being reinstalled.
The installation opened fall 2011.
