Ich bin wahrlich kein Kenner oder Liebhaber von Jungle, muss diesen Mix von Jimi Handtrix aus Berlin hier aber posten. Schlicht aus dem Grund, dass so viel gute Arbeit mit mehr Klicks belohnt werden sollte.

Auf einer Länge 3,5 Stunden arbeitet Handtrix sich durch die Geschichte des Jungle. Pro Jahr hat er 4 Tracks rausgesucht, kommt bei 25 Jahren also auf glatt 100 Songs. Er sagt, die Auswahl der Tunes war der schwierigste Teil des Projekts.

„My aim with this project – which with all the time I spent researching and compiling, somehow felt like a master’s thesis of sorts – was to showcase a selection of my 100 favourite tunes, while taking my listeners on a (chronological) journey through the history of Jungle / Drum & Bass.“

„The hardest part for me was actually narrowing down the selection to only 4 tracks from each year, as especially in the early years, I had a huge selection of foundational tunes to choose from. In the end I decided on those few tunes that I felt had the strongest impact on shaping the progression of the genre, and which also largely influenced me throughout my musical journey.“
