The Urban Yoga Project by Anja Humljan

Die Initiatorin des Urban Yoga Project, Anja Humljan, ist ein Multitalent und verbindet mit dem Urban Yoga Buch einige ihrer Leidenschaften. Sie studierte Architektur und Fotografie, hat sich daher schon oft mit Stadtbildern, Gebäuden und deren Formen beschäftigt.

Mit dem „Urban Yoga“ Buch schlägt sie die Brücke zwischen Körper, Geist und Großstadt. Die starken Bilder entstanden in New York, Madrid, Paris, London und Ljubljana.

Der Bildband erscheint im Laufe des Jahres und kann bereits vorbestellt werden.

The Urban Yoga is an architectural experiment exploring a dialogue between our sensuous body and the contemporary city. Ever more people are convinced that urban environment limits our freedom, causes stress and keeps us constantly alert. The urban environment should not be regarded as something, which disturbs our harmony, but rather as a vital element that contributes to it. By surrendering to what we touch, smell, taste, see and hear every space can become a source of positive energy. A place that recalls memories, tells stories and nests your dreams.

As an architect I created The Urban Yoga in order to build a bridge between our respected field and all those, who use our structures on a daily basis. The UY is raising the importance of designing urban spaces that are not only visually and technologically stunning, but are designed with human in mind. Thus with The UY we are contributing to a less stressful and more positive urban life. Therefore, the word yoga in the name of the project: Just like in yoga, where your body becomes your special space, urban environment can also become a place of self-reflection and self-realization.
