To be truly successful, collaborations need to actually be collaborative. And that’s exactly what the Adidas Consortium x Kith UltraBOOST Mid is. Over the past year I flew back and forth from the Adidas HQ in Herzog where I worked hand in hand with their design team to develop this all-new silhouette. Together we harped on every detail of this shoe. Knowing I wanted to release it with Kith Aspen, we selected 5 different yarns to create a multicolor palette that fits the season, we used a wool-blend Primeknit for warmth, we even integrated a new knitting technique that is much more dense so it would trap heat. Being a Mid, we designed an entirely new collar, as well as a new cageless design because I didn’t want it to interfere with the overall shape. We even made the laces from the exact same Primeknit blend so they would match the upper PERFECTLY. No stone went unturned. It’s my favorite shoe of 2016, and it’s been killing me having to wait this long. But the wait is almost over.
